What is paintless dent repair, and what are the benefits?

Paintless dent repair removes dents by working the metal back to its original shape from behind the panel, without grinding, sanding, filler, or paint. Your factory finish stays intact, which preserves your vehicle's value and avoids the color-match and clear-coat problems that come with conventional body work. It is also faster and less expensive than traditional repair, and most jobs are finished in a fraction of the time a body shop would need.

How much does paintless dent repair cost?

Most single door dings run $75–$250 depending on size, depth, and location on the panel. Larger dents and creases range $250–$600+. Can any dent be repaired with PDR?

Not every dent is repairable with paintless dent repair. Feasibility depends on the depth and location of the damage. Dents up to dinner plate sized can typically be repaired if they are not too deep, while even a small, deep dent the size of a dime or smaller may be irreparable due to excessive metal stretching. Golf ball sized dents and smaller are the most successfully repaired. In practice, about 95% of minor dents can be fixed with PDR, and roughly 5% are irreparable because of depth, location, or stretched metal.

Cracked paint is a sign the dent may not be suitable for PDR. Stretched dents can sometimes still be repaired by shrinking the metal with specialized equipment. The hardest areas to work are quarter panel opening lips, reinforced sections of hoods, and panel edges.

When there is no direct access behind the panel, we use the glue pulling method. It works best when the paint is intact and the dent is not overly stretched, and it may require additional refinement for a seamless finish.

PDR is highly effective on minor dents. Larger or deeper damage is more challenging but often yields impressive results. We provide a detailed assessment before starting any repair so you know what to expect.

Will the dent come back?

No. Once a dent is properly removed with PDR, it does not return. There is no risk of visible rings or sand scratch marks, which are common problems with traditional repair methods. A correctly executed paintless dent repair is permanent.

Will PDR damage my factory paint?

No. Paintless dent repair does not damage factory paint. Modern factory finishes are flexible and resilient, which is what makes the PDR process possible. Because we never grind, sand, or refinish the panel, your vehicle keeps its original paint along with the value and appearance that come with it.

Is hail damage repair covered by insurance?
